Aguascalientes: A Land of Wine, Magical Towns, and Historic Haciendas

The adventure begins in Real de Asientos, a Magical Town where you’ll explore 18th-century underground tunnels and the Pinacoteca (art gallery), ending with a tour of its historic cemetery, one of the oldest in the region.

After this journey through time, the scenery transforms into rows of vines as you visit one of the state’s premier wineries. There, you’ll walk through the vineyards and enjoy a guided tasting of three signature wines to discover the local terroir. The experience is topped off with lunch at the winery’s restaurant, soaking in the countryside’s tranquility before heading back to the city. In the evening, you’ll have free time to enjoy the illuminated architecture and urban charms of Aguascalientes at your own pace.

Our second day dives into Mexico’s living history with a visit to Pabellón de Hidalgo. Here, you’ll tour the Museum of the Insurgency before following the footsteps of the ancient Camino Real de Tierra Adentro (the historic Silver Route). The journey continues at Hacienda Garabato, a corner of Mexico frozen in time. We’ll explore its grand manor house and historic chapel, all while sipping a glass of local wine.

To end the day on a high note, we’ll visit one of the region’s most exclusive wineries for a guided tasting paired with fine charcuterie or artisanal chocolates. The day culminates with a pairing dinner designed to highlight local gastronomy—the perfect balance between the heritage of the haciendas and the modern wine scene of Aguascalientes.

The third day takes us to Calvillo, a picturesque Magical Town famous for its guava orchards and delicate deshilados (hand-drawn linen lace).

The morning begins by indulging in the flavors of a traditional candy factory and a visit to the National Museum of Magical Towns, followed by a trek up to the Santa Cruz Viewpoint to capture the best panoramic photos of the valley. You’ll have free time to wander the streets, try a traditional guava sorbet, or buy the region’s famous sweet bread while soaking in the local atmosphere. After a traditional farewell lunch, the tour concludes with a return transfer, leaving you with the lasting taste and history of an Aguascalientes that celebrates fine wine and deep-rooted tradition.
