Huasteca Adventure: Waterfalls, Jungle, and Surrealism

A three-day route through the Huasteca Potosina that visits waterfalls, jungle landscapes, and iconic sites such as the Edward James Sculpture Garden, the Huahuas Abyss, and the natural areas of Tamasopo.

THE ROUTE

Huasteca Adventure: Waterfalls, Jungle, and Surrealism

Day 1: Waterfall Circuit

A first day dedicated to exploring some of the most representative natural landscapes of the Ciudad Valles region.

Activities: The journey begins with a departure from Ciudad Valles toward the municipality of Tamasopo. After the road trip, we arrive at El Aguacate waterfall, where we discover this natural site surrounded by lush vegetation and turquoise waters.

Subsequently, we continue the tour toward the Micos waterfalls. At this site, we explore the set of cascading waters that form one of the most famous natural settings in the region. At the end of the activities, we return to Ciudad Valles to enjoy a meal at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we transfer to the hotel to rest after the day of exploration.

Día 1

Day 2: Edward James Sculpture Garden and Huahuas Abyss

A day dedicated to discovering two of the most surprising settings in the Huasteca Potosina: surrealist art in the middle of the jungle and one of its most impressive natural abysses.

Activities: The day begins with a departure from Ciudad Valles toward the Pueblo Magico of Xilitla. After the road trip, we arrive at this town nestled in the Sierra Madre Oriental. Subsequently, we begin the tour of the Edward James Sculpture Garden, a surrealist complex made of concrete structures, stairs, and passages that rise among the jungle vegetation.

After the tour, we enjoy a local meal. In the afternoon, we transfer to the Huahuas Abyss (Sotano de Huahuas), an impressive natural cavity where it is possible to observe the flight of hundreds of birds entering the abyss at dusk. At the end of the experience, we begin the return to Ciudad Valles.

Día 2

Day 3: Puente de Dios and Hacienda Gomez

A day dedicated to exploring two of the most attractive natural spots in the Tamasopo region.

Activities: The day begins with a departure from Ciudad Valles toward the municipality of Tamasopo. After the road trip, we reach Puente de Dios (God’s Bridge), where we descend toward the natural pool surrounded by rock formations to enjoy this impressive turquoise water scenery.

After the tour, we continue to Hacienda Gomez, a natural site known for its seven waterfalls of different heights. Here, we walk the trails to see the falling water, the crystalline pools, and the hidden natural corners of this Huasteca oasis. Subsequently, we enjoy a meal before starting the return to Ciudad Valles to conclude the days activities.
