THE ROUTE

Orange Blossoms & Traditions

Day 1: A Day at Fundidora

Arrival in Monterrey marks the beginning of the journey in a city where its industrial past coexists with expansive cultural and recreational open-air spaces.

Activities

Upon the group’s arrival at Aeropuerto Internacional de Monterrey, transfer is provided to Holiday Inn Express Fundidora, located beside Parque Fundidora.

This free-access urban park is one of the city’s most significant public spaces, known for its inclusive and multifunctional character, green areas, recreational zones, and vibrant cultural life.

Fundidora holds the designation of Industrial Archaeology Site Museum granted by the Instituto Nacional de Antropologia e Historia, recognizing the historical value of its macrostructures, former industrial halls, and steel machinery — now preserved as museum pieces and testimony to Nuevo León’s industrial development. Its proximity to the hotel allows guests to explore the park on foot without additional transfers.

The remainder of the day is free for independent activities: exploring the park, visiting nearby museums, or simply resting. At the end of the day, return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Montemorelos & Bioparque Estrella

This day takes us to a region shaped by agriculture, nature, and the everyday life of a city with strong local identity.

Activities

After breakfast and check-out, the group departs for Montemorelos, a locality recognized for its citrus-growing tradition — an activity that has defined its economy, landscape, and community life for decades.

Along the way, there is a stop at Bioparque Estrella Monterrey, a natural reserve spanning more than 300 hectares and home to over 800 animals representing around 50 species of mammals, reptiles, birds, and fish. During the visit, guests observe various species in a controlled environment, learn about conservation efforts, and tour parts of the park with guidance.

The journey then continues to Montemorelos for lunch and a guided tour of the city center. Highlights include the main square and representative landmarks such as the Museo El Valle del Pilon, the Museo del Cristo Gigante, the Templo del Santo Nino de Atocha, the scenic lookout, and the monument to Jose Maria Morelos — offering insight into the historical, religious, and cultural elements that have shaped local identity.

At the end of the day’s activities, transfer to the hotel in Montemorelos for overnight stay.

Día 2

Day 3: Pueblos Mágicos Experience

This day connects the northeastern agricultural tradition with the historic and cultural character of one of the state’s most representative towns, combining direct rural experiences with heritage-focused urban exploration.

Activities

After check-out, the group departs early for General Teran, an area known for citrus production. Upon arrival, visit a working orange orchard where you will experience the role of a piscador (fruit picker) and observe the techniques of an experienced harvester, who shares knowledge passed down through generations.

A rustic brunch is served in the orchard, offering time to engage with workers, hear their stories, understand their relationship with the land, and appreciate the importance of citrus farming in the region’s daily life.

The journey continues to Santiago, designated as a Pueblo Mágico and known for its strong historical identity. A guided walking tour explores its main streets and historic center, including the church, scenic viewpoints, and cultural spaces that reflect the town’s evolution and significance within the state.

After the visit, return to Monterrey with free time in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel.
