THE ROUTE

Spirits and Flavors of Guanajuato

Day 1: Welcome to the Bajío – A Sensory Introduction

Your experience begins with a warm reception at the Bajío International Airport (BJX), followed by a transfer to a charming boutique hotel in the heart of Guanajuato City’s historic center.

In the afternoon, we’ll start your sensory immersion with a curated Artisanal Chocolate and Tequila Corralejo tasting. In this session, you’ll learn the history of these legendary Mexican products while pairing the deep, earthy sweetness of local cacao with the bright agave notes characteristic of the region.

Día 1

Day 2: An Expedition of Mezcal, Vines, and Magic Towns

After breakfast, we head to the mystical Pueblo Mágico of Mineral de Pozos to visit the Mezcal Cuanax distillery. Here, you’ll witness the “earth-to-bottle” artisanal process of mezcal and participate in a guided tasting led by local experts.

The journey continues toward the world-famous San Miguel de Allende to visit Puente Josefa Vineyard. You’ll enjoy a complete enological experience walking among the vines and tasting their boutique labels. As the sun sets, we return to Guanajuato City for a traditional Callejoneada. Wander the moonlit alleys to the rhythm of a Estudiantina musical group—the ultimate Guanajuato tradition.

Día 2

Day 3: High-Altitude Farewells

We begin our final day with breakfast before heading to the Sangre de Cristo Tourist Parador, a unique space that merges the region’s mining history with contemporary art.

Our final stop is Camino de Vinos, one of the highest vineyards in Mexico. Perched on the mountainside, you’ll enjoy a final wine tasting while contemplating spectacular panoramic views of the Guanajuato valleys. After this high-altitude toast, we’ll provide your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
