Day 1: Hermosillo in One Day

The capital of Sonora unfolds through its plazas, historic landmarks, and long-standing neighborhoods, offering a clear view of its urban and cultural evolution—all in a single day.

Activities

We begin in the historic center of Hermosillo with a visit to the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Assumption and Zaragoza Plaza, two cornerstone spaces of the city’s civic life. From there, we continue with an exterior visit to City Hall and the Government Palace, taking in their architecture and the surrounding atmosphere that frames daily life in the capital.

Next, we head to Bicentennial Plaza, a contemporary gathering space that bridges Hermosillo’s past and present. The tour then moves to the Barrio Mágico of Villa de Seris, one of the city’s most tradition-rich districts, where a walk through its streets offers insight into its strong local identity and community roots.

Later, we ascend Cerro de la Campana, a natural lookout point with sweeping panoramic views over Hermosillo—an ideal moment to appreciate the city’s scale and desert setting. We conclude with a drive along emblematic streets, passing Parque Madero and Boulevard Hidalgo before wrapping up the day.
