Day 1: El Eden Mine, Cable Car, and Cerro de la Bufa
A first encounter with the mining history of Zacatecas and one of the most iconic viewpoints in the city.
Activities: We begin the day with a transfer to the El Eden Mine, one of the most representative mining sites in Zacatecas. During the tour, we explore the tunnels and spaces that for centuries were part of the mining activity that gave rise to the citys development.
Upon leaving the mine, we take a short walk to the Zacatecas cable car station, where we board the system that connects the center with the Cerro de la Bufa. During the journey, we enjoy a panoramic view of the historic center, its temples, and the hills surrounding the city.
Arriving at the Cerro de la Bufa station, we visit the camera obscura, considered the first installed in Mexico and the second in Latin America. Here, we observe a live projection of the historic center through an optical system that allows us to visually explore different points of the city.
Subsequently, we take a walk along the path toward the Revolucion Esplanade at Cerro de la Bufa, where we learn about the history of this emblematic hill and its importance within the historical memory of Zacatecas.
We have free time to visit the church, the museum, the Mausoleum of Illustrious Men, and the meteorological observatory, as well as enjoy optional activities such as ziplining, ATVs, or souvenir shopping. At the end of the tour, we conclude at the Cerro de la Bufa information module, from where there are various options to return to the center and continue the day.
