Day 1: Ancient Vestiges, Chocolate, and Colonial Charm
The experience begins in the heart of the city with breakfast at La Casona, a venue whose architecture and local flavors perfectly introduce the stately atmosphere of Ixtlán.
The morning is dedicated to exploring Los Toriles, the state’s most significant archaeological zone. Walking among its unique circular structures and temples is a true journey into the region’s Pre-Hispanic past. Upon returning to the city center, we’ll join a chocolate workshop at Manena, where you’ll learn everything about the sacred cacao bean. You’ll also get to taste traditional nieve de garrafa (hand-churned sorbet) to refresh your path.
After lunch at Mariscos El 30, the afternoon invites you to a leisurely stroll through the main plaza to admire the Parish of Santo Santiago Apóstol, an architectural jewel. For your stay, we arrive at the Hotel Boutique y Casona Marqués de Minas, a sanctuary that seamlessly blends luxury with historical heritage. The night concludes with an authentic local flavor at Pollo a la Picha, located at the end of the iconic Portal Juárez—a must-visit spot for any traveler.
