Day 1: Artisanal Hands and the Whisper of Water
The journey begins in the heart of Jomulco with a traditional breakfast at El Itacate, the perfect start for a morning of cultural discovery.
Our first stop is the workshop of Don Maxi, a guardian of the Chiquihuite tradition (hand-woven baskets). Here, you’ll witness the skill required to transform natural fibers into the woven baskets that are pillars of local identity. After this encounter with craftsmanship, nature calls with a hiking route to the El Salto Waterfall, a hidden oasis of fresh mountain water.
To recharge, lunch is served at Monroys, famous for its giant tostadas—a regional classic. In the afternoon, we’ll stroll through the Historic Center to admire the Lateran Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption, an architectural gem built from unique green and pink volcanic stone (cantera). We’ll also visit the Museum of Sacred Art, which houses centuries of faith and heritage.
The day culminates at the Nukari Hotel, where a signature dinner and an optional spa session offer the ideal relaxation under the starry sky of this Pueblo Mágico.
