Day 1: Discovering Fundidora

Arrival in Monterrey marks the beginning of an experience where industrial heritage and contemporary cultural life coexist in expansive open-air spaces.

Upon landing at Aeropuerto Internacional de Monterrey, transfer to Holiday Inn Express Fundidora, located beside the iconic Parque Fundidora. This free-access urban park is one of the city’s most important public spaces, celebrated for its inclusive design, green areas, and vibrant cultural programming.

Recognized by Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology and History as an Industrial Archaeology Site Museum, Fundidora preserves monumental steel structures, former industrial warehouses, and historic machinery that now serve as open-air exhibits — powerful reminders of Nuevo León’s industrial rise.

The remainder of the day is free to explore the park, nearby museums, or simply unwind before returning to the hotel for the night.

Día 1

Day 2: Dinosaurs and Fine Wine

This day bridges desert science and mountain viticulture, crossing from Nuevo León into Coahuila to explore how geography, climate, and culture intertwine.

After breakfast, depart for Saltillo to visit the Museo del Desierto. Developed by Amigos del Desierto de Coahuila, A.C., the museum spans more than 12,000 square meters and integrates paleontology, geology, biology, history, sociology, and art. The experience traces the natural and cultural evolution of northern Mexico — from prehistoric fossils to the resilient ecosystems of today’s desert landscapes.

The journey continues into the Sierra de Arteaga for a visit to Bodega Los Cedros, a Mexican winery founded in 2012. The region’s elevation, mountainous terrain, and forest surroundings create a distinctive microclimate reflected in the character of its wines. A guided tour of the facilities is followed by a tasting and lunch at the vineyard, offering an intimate look at the winemaking process and the flavors born from this unique terroir.

Return to Monterrey in the evening for overnight rest.

Day 3: Expedition to La Huasteca Canyon

Today deepens the connection between Monterrey and its natural surroundings through a geological exploration that reveals how its mountains were formed — complemented by visits that contextualize the city’s historical development.

After breakfast, depart for Cañón de la Huasteca. Guided by specialists, the tour navigates towering vertical rock walls considered a global reference point for understanding mountain formation.

Stops along the way allow for fossil observation, explanations of the geological materials that shape the range, and identification of rocks and minerals. The central valley highlights processes of deformation and erosion, while the southern face of the Sierra de los Muertos reveals dramatic stratified walls sculpted over millions of years.

The itinerary continues with a visit to Museo del Blanqueo, offering insight into the historical relationship between industry and the mountainous landscape surrounding the city. After lunch, return to Monterrey for a guided visit to the Museo de Historia Mexicana, which enriches the experience with a broader historical and cultural perspective of the region.

Return to the hotel to rest.

Day 4: Farewell, Nuevo León

After breakfast, enjoy free time for personal activities, last-minute shopping, or packing. At the designated hour, transfer to Monterrey International Airport for your return flight, concluding a journey that seamlessly blends science, landscape, wine, and history in northeastern Mexico.
