1 Día days

A journey that reveals coastal Sonora from within: desert landscapes, mangroves, and a sacred island shaped by the living culture of the Seri people and life along the Sea of Cortez (also known as Gulf of California).

THE ROUTE

Tiburón Island

Day 1: Desert and Sea

Desert and sea converge in this immersive experience, offering insight into Seri territory, its striking natural scenery, and the cultural richness of Sonora’s coastline.

Activities

We depart from Hermosillo toward the iconic saguaro forest, where we pause to appreciate this defining desert ecosystem. From there, we continue to Punta Chueca, a Seri community facing the Mar de Cortés.

From Punta Chueca, we board a traditional panga boat (transfer included) and cross to Isla Tiburón.

On the island, we explore the mangroves while learning about their ecological and cultural importance. There is time to enjoy activities at leisure, take in the surrounding landscapes, and relax along the shoreline. Later, we return to Punta Chueca and transfer to Bahía de Kino.

Upon arrival, free time is available for lunch at a local restaurant (not included). In the afternoon, there is an optional visit (additional cost) to the Museo de los Seris, as well as time to stroll along the pier and browse the artisan market—ideal spaces to discover and acquire handcrafted pieces that reflect the region’s cultural heritage.

At the end of the day, we return to Hermosillo.
