THE ROUTE

The Best of Yucatan: Two Days Route

Day 1: Uxmal, Cenotes, and Mucuyche Hacienda

The first day is dedicated to visiting one of the most important Maya cities in Yucatan and enjoying cenotes located within an ancient henequen estate.

Activities: The journey begins with a transfer from Merida toward the Uxmal archaeological zone, one of the most representative sites of the Puuc architectural style. During the tour, we visit its main structures, including the Magician’s Pyramid, the Nuns’ Quadrangle, and the Governor’s Palace, famous for their elaborate stone mosaics.

Subsequently, we continue the journey to Mucuyche Hacienda, where we visit its cenotes located within the old henequen complex. In this site, you can swim in crystalline waters and explore some of the restored spaces of the hacienda. At the end of the activities, we enjoy lunch before concluding the day.

Day 2: A Day in Celestun

The second day is dedicated to exploring one of the most important coastal ecosystems in Yucatan and observing its characteristic wildlife.

Activities: The journey begins with a transfer from Merida toward Celestun, located within the Ria Celestun Biosphere Reserve. Upon arrival, we take a boat tour through the estuary for the sighting of the Caribbean flamingo, one of the most representative species of this natural sanctuary.

During the trip, we also travel through mangrove channels where it is possible to observe birds, red mangrove roots, and various landscapes of the coastal ecosystem. Part of the experience includes a canoe or kayak tour to enter the mangroves and appreciate the natural environment more closely. The day concludes with a lunch featuring fresh fish and seafood on the beach before heading back.
