Day 1: Volcanic Wines and Ancestral Healing
The route sets off from the Ex-Convento de la Cruz toward the Jala Highlands, beginning in Jomulco with a traditional breakfast at El Itacate. Your cultural immersion starts with a Herbalism Workshop (Hiladillos), where you’ll craft bundles of sacred plants like calendula, rue, and arnica while learning their profound uses in traditional Mexican medicine.
The journey continues to Rosa Blanca on the Juanacatlán Plateau. In the local artisanal market, you’ll experience an energy cleansing (limpia) led by a local healer (curandero), followed by a demonstration of healing tisanes made from regional flora.
Later, enjoy a meal with breathtaking panoramic views and a handmade tortilla workshop at the very top of the plateau. The highlight of the day awaits at Meseta del Cielo Vineyards, nestled on the slopes of the Ceboruco Volcano. Here, you’ll tour the vineyards to learn about the high-altitude grape cultivation and the unique volcanic winemaking process.
The experience culminates with a guided wine tasting paired with artisanal local cheeses, all while soaking in the expansive vistas of the sierra.
