THE ROUTE

Northeastern Pride

Day 1: Exploring Parque Fundidora

Monterrey welcomes us with a tour that connects the city’s industrial heritage to one of its most representative and accessible public spaces.

Activities

Upon arrival at Aeropuerto Internacional de Monterrey, we transfer to the Holiday Inn Express Monterrey Fundidora, located beside Parque Fundidora. This inclusive and multifunctional urban park offers a safe, green environment with free public access, while housing one of the most significant industrial heritage sites in northeastern Mexico.

Recognized by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) as an Industrial Archaeology Site Museum, the park preserves 27 macrostructures, 127 pieces of steel machinery and tools, 16 former industrial warehouses, and other assets that now serve as museum elements.

Thanks to the hotel’s prime location, the remainder of the day can be spent walking through the park, exploring its various spaces, enjoying the surroundings, and resting after the journey—all within easy reach.

Día 1

Day 2: A Day in the Garden of Nuevo León

Bustamante opens its doors to a day defined by history, nature, and the traditional flavors of northern Nuevo León.

Activities

After breakfast, we meet in the hotel lobby and depart for Bustamante, a Pueblo Mágico known as “The Garden of Nuevo León” and considered an oasis in the region. Along the way, we appreciate its natural landscapes and the scenic beauty that defines its identity.

Our first stop is the Museo de la Memoria Viva, where we enjoy an interactive journey through the community’s history, from its founding in 1686 to the present.

We then visit the Grutas de Bustamante, natural cave formations that reveal the slow artistry of time etched into stone.

The experience continues with regional gastronomy, featuring emblematic dishes and products such as arroz de boda, cabrito arropado, mezcal, sweet empanadas, walnut-based desserts, and traditional wood-fired bread.

To conclude the day, we stop at La Superior bakery and La Guadalupana mezcalería—local landmarks for tasting and purchasing regional specialties—before returning to Monterrey for rest.

Día 2

Day 3: Two Pueblos Mágicos

History, architecture, and daily life define this day, connecting the colonial past of Linares with the traditional ambiance of Santiago (Villa de Santiago).

Activities

After breakfast, we depart for Linares, a Pueblo Mágico and the first episcopal seat of northeastern Mexico. A guided tour includes the Catedral de San Felipe Apóstol, showcasing Baroque and Neoclassical elements; the Municipal Palace, one of the region’s most representative Porfirian structures; the Casino de Linares, inspired by European design; the Botica Morelos, remodeled in 1938 in an indigenist style; and the Museo de Linares, where rock art, historical artifacts, sacred art, petroglyphs, fossils, and other objects narrate the municipality’s story.

We then visit the old aqueduct of the former sugarcane mill, a unique architectural piece in northeastern Mexico. Here, we learn about the historic sugar haciendas of the region and take part in a traditional sugarcane milling demonstration using an antique trapiche. Lunch follows.

In the afternoon, we transfer to Villa de Santiago, where a guided walk through its picturesque streets and historic center includes the church, scenic lookout, and Casa de la Cultura. At the end of the visit, we return to Monterrey.
