Day 2: Uxmal, Cenotes, and Yaxcopoil Hacienda

A second day dedicated to discovering ancient henequen haciendas, Puuc Maya architecture, and cenotes surrounded by jungle.

Activities: The day begins with a transfer from Merida to visit the Yaxcopoil Hacienda, where we tour this ancient henequen complex that preserves machinery, rooms, and spaces showing the history of “green gold” production on the peninsula.

Subsequently, we continue to the Uxmal archaeological zone, one of the most representative complexes of the Puuc architectural style. During the visit, we explore its main buildings, including the Magician’s Pyramid, the Nuns’ Quadrangle, and the Governor’s Palace, known for their detailed stone mosaics. After the tour, we transfer to the cenote area of San Antonio Mulix, where we visit the Peba cenote or the San Antonio Mulix cenotes. In this natural spot, we enjoy time to swim in crystalline waters surrounded by vegetation. At the end of the swimming activities, we enjoy lunch before starting the return journey.
