Day 1: Traces of History
The adventure begins with a hike down the trail from Cerro de la Cruz to the picturesque town of Bellavista, offering panoramic views of the local geography.
We’ll enjoy breakfast at Los Telares, a charming spot that pays homage to the area’s textile past. The morning is dedicated to exploring the Bellavista Ex-Factory, whose 19th-century European architecture transports you back in time. This is complemented by a visit to the ruins of La Escondida, where ancient stone walls are beautifully reclaimed by nature.
After a stroll through the town’s streets, the afternoon continues at the Elefante Waterfall, a natural oasis perfect for a revitalizing swim. The journey then takes us to the Puga Aqueduct, a historic engineering feat that still stands tall in the landscape. To close the day, we’ll head to the Aguamilpa Dam for dinner and a restful night at Los Coras Lodge, a retreat designed to help you disconnect while overlooking the state’s largest mirror of water.
