THE ROUTE

Wines & Dinos Route: History and Tradition

Day 1: Welcome to Saltillo – Culture and Paleontology

Upon your arrival at the Ramos Arizpe International Airport, we’ll head to Saltillo, the capital of Coahuila—a city with deep Northern roots and a high quality of life.

Our first stop is the Museo del Desierto (Desert Museum), an extraordinary space dedicated to the natural history of the Chihuahuan Desert. Through its interactive galleries, you’ll discover impressive dinosaur fossils, regional wildlife, and the hidden biological richness of this arid landscape.

Following the museum, we’ll tour Saltillo’s Historic Center aboard a traditional tourist tram. As we ride, the city’s colonial past, architectural gems, and living traditions will be revealed. The evening is yours to stroll through the charming streets or rest for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Vineyards and the Charm of Parras de la Fuente

Day two begins with a scenic drive to Parras de la Fuente, a Pueblo Mágico and the recognized cradle of winemaking in the Americas. Our destination is Casa Madero, a historic winery founded in the 16th century (1597). You’ll tour the lush vineyards and ancient cellars to learn about the winemaking process, followed by a guided professional tasting.

Afterward, enjoy a walk through the town’s historic center, followed by a free lunch and time to explore its shaded plazas and ancient temples that reflect centuries of desert history. (Note: Lodging is on your own; evening at leisure).

Day 3: Authentic Flavors and Local Crafts

Discover the artisanal side of Parras by visiting small boutique wineries where local products are crafted with passion. Enjoy tastings that reveal the unique terroir of the Coahuila desert.

Later, the tour takes you to a traditional regional candy factory, where you’ll witness the artisanal process behind Northern Mexico’s famous sweets (like palanquetas and glorias). Before heading back to Saltillo in the afternoon, there’s free time to browse local boutiques for souvenirs and traditional crafts.
