The Wonders of San José: A Three-Day Cloud Forest Odyssey

Our adventure starts at the Gómez Farías Main Plaza, where we’ll board specialized 4×4 off-road vehicles. Our first stop is the Ecological Interpretive Center (CIE) for an immersive introduction to this rare ecosystem.

As we climb toward the highlands of Ejido San José, we’ll pause at the Main Lookout to capture the immensity of the Sierra Madre. We’ll also visit Ejido Alta Cima, the perfect spot to meet local artisans and sample regional fruit liqueurs. Before reaching our final base, we’ll make a special stop at the mysterious Valle del Ovni (UFO Valley) for a one-of-a-kind photo session. We’ll conclude the day checking into our mountain cabins in Ejido San José for a peaceful regional dinner.

We’ll start before dawn with a trek to the Cerro de la Campana (Bell Hill) to witness a breathtaking sunrise above the clouds. After a restorative highland breakfast, the adrenaline kicks in with a zipline experience over the canopy, followed by an exploration of the mystical Cueva del Agua (Water Cave).

After lunch, enjoy a horseback ride through the mountain trails or take some free time to wander the picturesque paths of the ejido. We’ll close the day sharing stories over a traditional bonfire with roasted marshmallows under a star-filled sky that feels close enough to touch.

After our final mountain breakfast, we’ll trek toward the lush Viveros Valley and the stunning Bellas Fuentes Waterfall to say goodbye to the freshness of the forest. To conclude this epic route, we’ll board our 4×4 vehicles once more for the descent, arriving back at the Gómez Farías Plaza with memories—and photos—to last a lifetime.
