From Papantla and its World Heritage treasures to the lush jungle landscapes of Tlapacoyan, discover the magic of traditional towns and conclude with the serenity of Costa Esmeralda along the Gulf. THE ROUTE

Tajín Route

Day 1: Arrival and the Urban Essence of Poza Rica

Your expedition begins upon arrival at Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez, from where we travel north toward Poza Rica.

After hotel check-in, the afternoon is dedicated to discovering the identity of this city, a key chapter in Mexico’s oil history. A guided tour of its most emblematic sites introduces you to its urban atmosphere and renowned Veracruz hospitality, setting the stage for the adventures ahead.

Día 1

Day 2: Immersion in Totonac Culture and World Heritage

This day is devoted to exploring three UNESCO-recognized cultural treasures in a setting filled with mysticism.

After breakfast, we begin at the El Tajín archaeological zone, the majestic “City of Thunder.”

We then visit the Centro de las Artes Indígenas, where you will participate in workshops and explore Totonac tradition houses to learn about ancestral knowledge and living heritage.

Following a traditional lunch in Papantla, we stroll through the historic center, visit the Museo Teodoro Cano, and witness the breathtaking Ritual of the Voladores. At the end of the day, we return to Poza Rica for free time and dinner, closing a meaningful day of cultural connection.

Día 2

Day 3: Zozocolco — The Art of Paper and the Aroma of the Earth

After breakfast, we depart for Zozocolco de Hidalgo, a Pueblo Mágico distinguished by its stone architecture and deep-rooted traditions. During our visit, we take part in a traditional papel de china balloon workshop—one of the region’s most colorful and emblematic artisanal expressions.

The experience continues with a visit to a cinnamon farm, offering a sensory journey into the cultivation and production of this aromatic spice. After free time to explore the town at your own pace, we return to Poza Rica for rest and dinner at the hotel.

Día 3

Day 4: Nature and Adventure in Tlapacoyan

Today we venture into the lush landscapes surrounding Tlapacoyan, known for its rivers, waterfalls, and dense vegetation. This region offers thrilling eco-adventures such as rafting and jungle exploration, allowing you to experience the vibrant biodiversity of Veracruz up close.

After a day immersed in nature and adrenaline-filled activities, we return to our hotel to relax and prepare for the final stage of our expedition.

Día 4

Day 5: Sunrise on the Coast and Return

On our final day, we rise early for a moving experience on the shores of Costa Esmeralda: a sea turtle release (seasonal), offering a direct encounter with marine conservation efforts in Veracruz.

After a light breakfast by the sea, we begin our journey back to Mexico City. The expedition concludes upon arrival at Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez, marking the end of an unforgettable journey through northern Veracruz.
