THE ROUTE

Veracruz Route

Day 1: Gateway to the Americas & Coastal Rhythms

Our journey begins with transportation from Mexico City to the emblematic Port of Veracruz, historically known as the gateway to the Americas.
After hotel check-in, the day welcomes us with a lively marimba performance, setting the tone with the festive and distinctive atmosphere that defines this vibrant port city.

Día 1

Day 2: Pre-Hispanic Roots & the Beginning of History

We dedicate the day to exploring ancient origins. Our first stop is the archaeological site of Quiahuiztlán, offering spectacular ocean views. We then continue to Cempoala, a key settlement of the pre-Hispanic era.

The route proceeds to La Antigua, where we’ll enjoy a scenic boat ride along the Huitzilapan River, savor a regional lunch, and participate in a water hyacinth craft workshop. The day concludes with a historical walking tour before returning to the port.

Día 2

Day 3: Fortresses, Mangroves & Jarocho Flavor

We begin with a guided visit through the Historic Center of Veracruz and the imposing San Juan de Ulúa, a colonial-era fortress steeped in history.

Later, we travel to Mandinga for a boat ride through mangroves, followed by a culinary immersion featuring the iconic arroz a la tumbada, a traditional coastal rice dish.

Back in the city, we explore the traditional Barrio de la Huaca to enjoy a lively showcase of traditional jarocho dance and music.

Día 3

Day 4: Dunes, Reefs & the Blue Waters of Veracruz

Adventure awaits at Chachalacas, where we’ll ride ATVs across sweeping sand dunes.

In Boca del Río, we’ll learn about the preparation of stuffed seafood fillet and the famous local “torito” beverage.

In the afternoon, we depart from Antón Lizardo by boat toward Isla de Enmedio, a paradise of crystal-clear waters and white sand beaches. After enjoying this natural oasis, we return to rest following a day filled with striking contrasts.

Día 4

Day 5: Farewell to the Gulf

After a final morning at leisure in the port, we transfer from the hotel to Aeropuerto Internacional Heriberto Jara Corona for departure.

With this final leg, we conclude an unforgettable expedition through the most iconic and vibrant destinations of the state of Veracruz.
