THE ROUTE

Follow the Mennonite Path: Heritage and Tradition

Day 1: Tradition and Hospitality in Nuevo Ideal

Our adventure begins with a warm welcome at the Durango International Airport, followed by a direct transfer to Nuevo Ideal. We’ll start with a regional feast at Cow Boy Restaurant, famous for its high-quality Northern Mexican beef cuts, before checking into Hotel La Fiesta.

The afternoon is dedicated to cultural immersion. We’ll visit traditional community shops and enter an authentic Mennonite home. A local family will welcome us to share an afternoon of conversation over fresh bread, coffee, tea, and typical hand-crafted pastries—a true gesture of their legendary hospitality. We’ll conclude the day with dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Our cultural deep-dive continues with a visit to the Holanda Cheese Factory and the town’s traditional hardware stores—the heart of their agricultural economy.
