Legendary Cantina Tour

Our afternoon begins with a pickup at your hotel in a climate-controlled van. Your expert guide will introduce you to the unique etiquette and flavors of Mexican cantina culture.

• First Stop: La Sevillana – Overlooking the vibrant Plaza de la Libertad, this cantina is a local institution. Here, we’ll savor a classic Seafood Cazuela or a zesty fresh ceviche paired with a cold Mexican lager.
• The Architectural Walk: We’ll take a brief stroll (or drive) to admire the port’s iron-balcony architecture before arriving at Salón Madrid, located just steps from the Old Customs Building.
• Second Stop: Salón Madrid – A masterclass in seafood snacks. Choose from house specialties like the Octopus Tostada à la Madrid, a Shrimp Crust Taco, or their signature ceviche.
• Third Stop: El Royal – Located in the heart of downtown, this spot offers a more festive, modern vibe. Enjoy a Seafood Tostada or a handmade Empanada (stuffed with salpicón fish, crab, or shrimp) with a traditional national drink.

We’ll wrap up the evening by 7:30 PM, sharing stories and highlights of the tour before returning to your hotel.

After departing from the hotel, we dedicate the day to the full “Navigator’s Experience,” visiting six legendary cantinas that hold the festive soul of the port. Each stop reveals a different chapter of Tampico’s golden era through its decor and hidden stories.

The day includes a traditional regional lunch to balance the spirits and highlight the best of Gulf Coast cuisine. We’ll conclude this deep immersion into the heart of Tampico with a comfortable transfer back to your hotel to rest and reflect on a truly authentic Mexican experience.
