Ures

1 Día days

Between traditional sweets, historic plazas, and emblematic buildings, a day in Ures offers a close look at Sonoran history and the customs that continue to shape the identity of this Pueblo Mágico.

THE ROUTE

Ures

Day 1:

Ures is one of the oldest settlements in Sonora and served as the state capital in the 19th century. Its urban layout, historic buildings, and culinary traditions reflect the missionary and civil origins of central Sonora, in a setting defined by the Río Sonora and a traditional small-town atmosphere.

Activities

We depart from Hermosillo to Ures, a designated Pueblo Mágico. Upon arrival, we visit a traditional jamoncillo factory and its museum, where you will learn about the artisanal production process of this emblematic regional sweet, including a tasting.

Afterward, there will be free time for lunch in the town center (not included). We continue with a visit to Plaza Zaragoza, the social heart of Ures, followed by a tour of the Church of San Miguel Arcángel, one of the municipality’s most representative landmarks.

The tour proceeds to the Regional Museum, where exhibits showcase artifacts and documents related to local history, the missionary period, and the years when Ures served as the state capital. Optionally, guests may enjoy a ride on the Trenecito del Riki (additional cost). Before returning, a tasting of bacanora is offered. Finally, we head back to Hermosillo.

Includes: round-trip transportation, accredited guide, traveler and accident insurance, breakfast (burrito plate), visit to the jamoncillo factory and museum, and bacanora tasting.
