Divine Journeys: San Miguel de Allende and Dolores

Day 1: Vineyards and Aromas in San Miguel de Allende

A sensory and memorable adventure among vineyards and mezcal distilleries.

Activities: Upon our arrival in San Miguel de Allende, we transfer to the Mezcalera El Tinieblo glamping, located in the natural setting surrounding the city. This space combines comfort with direct contact with the semi-desert landscape characteristic of the region, offering a distinct lodging experience integrated into the countryside.

In the afternoon, we head toward San Jose Lavista Vineyard, a consolidated winemaking project in the area. During the tour, we visit its vines and production areas, where the process from grape cultivation to wine aging is explained. Later, we perform a guided tasting of three selected labels, accompanied by a board of artisanal cheeses. The experience is complemented by a meal at the vineyard before returning to our lodging. At the end, we have free time to walk through downtown San Miguel de Allende, explore its cobblestone streets, and enjoy the cultural atmosphere.

Día 1

Day 2: Wine Routes and Colonial Charm

Between tastings and meals, we continue discovering the soul of this land.

Activities: After breakfast at Mezcalera El Tinieblo, we prepare to continue the region’s wine route. We depart for Dos Buhos Vineyard, a project recognized for its organic focus and artisanal production. During the visit, we take a guided tour of its vines and facilities to learn about the process from harvest to bottling. Later, we participate in a tasting of three labels, where their characteristics and aging methods are explained. The experience includes a lunch at the vineyard restaurant.

In the afternoon, we return for free time to rest or walk the streets of San Miguel. At sunset, we transfer to the Cantinflas Hotel, where we tour the facilities and learn the history of the place, linked to the iconic Mexican actor. The evening begins with a welcome cocktail before continuing with free time in San Miguel de Allende.

Día 2

Day 3: Nature, Culture, and High-Altitude Wines

A day to connect with the nature of Guanajuato and taste the fruits of the land.

Activities: We begin the morning with breakfast and then head to El Charco del Ingenio, an ecological reserve and conservation space that protects a collection of native flora and landscapes of the Guanajuato semi-desert. During the tour, we learn about its environmental work and its link with Otomi culture.

Later, we continue to San Lucas Vineyard, located in a higher altitude area that provides particular characteristics to its wines. We take a guided tour and participate in a tasting of three labels accompanied by a cheese board. The experience includes a lunch at the vineyard restaurant. In the afternoon, we return to San Miguel to visit representative points of its historic center. Later, we head to Dolores Hidalgo, staying at the El Relicario hotel, where we receive a welcome glass of wine.

Día 3

Day 4: Vineyards in Dolores

In a single day, we discover the beauty of Dolores Hidalgo and visit its most important vineyards.

Activities: We start the day in Dolores Hidalgo with a visit to the Wine Museum, a space dedicated to the history and evolution of viticulture in Guanajuato and Mexico. The experience includes a welcome glass to mark the start of this journey.

Subsequently, we continue the route through some of the most representative vineyards in the area. We visit Tres Raices, Cuna de Tierra, and Santisima Trinidad, projects that stand out for their own identity, architecture, and production philosophy. In each, we take guided tours and participate in tastings of selected wines, accompanied by cheese boards and appetizers. With this day, our journey through the wine roads of Guanajuato concludes, closing a voyage that combines culture, nature, and the winemaking wealth of the Bajio.
